Author Submission Guidelines
International Journal of Graduate Researchβ’
Eligibility
The International Journal of Graduate Research (IJGR) welcomes submissions from:
- Current graduate students
- Recent graduates
- Graduate research teams
- Faculty-supported graduate research projects
- Senior undergraduates (when recommended by faculty advisor)
Authors must have the right to submit the work and obtain any necessary permissions before submission.
Submission does not guarantee publication.
Originality and Academic Integrity
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:
- The work is their own original research or scholarship
- All sources have been properly cited
- The manuscript does not contain plagiarized content
- The manuscript is not currently under review by another journal, publisher, or publication platform
AI Policy: The use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) in the preparation of manuscripts: 1) must comply with your university requirements, 2) be approved by your advisers, and 3) must be clearly disclosed in the paper.
IJGR reserves the right to reject submissions that fail to meet accepted standards of academic integrity.
Faculty Review and Endorsement
Provide the names and email addresses of three academic reviewers who can verify that the submission is:
- Original
- Academically rigorous
- Suitable for scholarly publication
Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for:
- The accuracy of all content
- Securing any necessary permissions
- Ensuring all listed authors approve the submission
- Obtaining Faculty Review and Endorsement
- Complying with applicable ethical and academic standards
- Complying with all requirements listed in these Author Submission Guidelines
Types of Submissions
IJGR accepts a variety of graduate-level scholarly works, including:
- Research papers
- Thesis- or dissertation-based articles
- Literature reviews
- Case studies
- Applied research projects
- Interdisciplinary research
- Scholarly essays
Free-Format Submission
IJGR accepts submissions in a flexible format. Authors are not required to use a specific template, provided that all required sections are included. Additional formatting requirements may be requested prior to publication.
Manuscript Requirements
Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format and include the following:
- Title
- Author name(s)
- Institutional affiliation(s)
- Corresponding author contact information
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Main manuscript text
- Conclusion or summary (where applicable)
- References
- Names and affiliations of faculty who reviewed and endorsemed your submission
Additional sections may be included as appropriate for the discipline or research type.
Language Requirements
All manuscripts must be submitted in English.
Abstract Requirements
Abstracts should:
- Be between 150 and 250 words
- Provide a concise summary of the research
- Clearly state the purpose, methods (if applicable), key findings, and conclusions
- Not contain citations or footnotes
Keywords
Authors should provide 3β7 keywords that accurately describe the manuscript's subject matter. Keywords should be listed immediately after the abstract.
Formatting Guidelines
Authors should:
- Use a standard, readable font (e.g., Times New Roman or Arial)
- Use a 12-point font size
- Use double-spacing or 1.5 spacing
- Number all pages
- Use clear headings and subheadings where appropriate
- Ensure citations and references follow a consistent academic style
IJGR accepts APA, MLA, Chicago, and other discipline-appropriate citation styles, provided the chosen style is applied consistently throughout the manuscript.
Figures, Tables, and Images
If figures, tables, charts, or images are included:
- They must be clearly labeled and referenced within the manuscript text.
- Each figure or table must include a descriptive title or caption.
- Images should be clear and of publication quality.
- Authors are responsible for obtaining any required permissions for copyrighted material.
Citations and References
Authors are responsible for:
- Properly citing all sources used in the manuscript
- Ensuring references are complete and accurate
- Following a consistent citation style throughout the document
- Obtaining permission for copyrighted materials when required
Ethics and Disclosures
Where applicable, authors must disclose:
- Conflicts of interest
- Funding sources or financial support
- Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval or other ethics approvals
- Any relevant ethical considerations associated with the research
Authors should include any required disclosure statements at the end of the manuscript.
Copyright
Authors retain ownership and responsibility for the content they submit. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant IJGR permission to publish approved work on its website and related publication platforms.
File Security Requirements
To protect the security and integrity of the publication process, submitted files must not contain:
- Macros
- Embedded code or scripts
- Executable content
- Password protection
- External file links or embedded programs
All submitted files may be scanned for security risks. Manuscripts containing prohibited content may be rejected without review and authors may be asked to resubmit a clean version of the file.
